Print Deploy is the PaperCut print queue deployment and configuration tool that simplifies the installation process of installing and configuring printers that are made available as part of the UIS Managed Print Service.
Once the Print Deploy client is installed, Engineering users that are eligible to print on Engineering’s Multi-Function Devices will have the Eng_FindMe printer available to print to.
Installation
Windows/Mac
For ICS managed PC deployments, the Print Deploy client should either be installed and available for use already, or can be downloaded from the ICS software repository.
If the Print Deploy client is not installed, you can install it manually by following the steps below:
The new print deploy client should be available to download below:
Windows – link
- After downloading the zip file browse to downloads and select “extract all”
- The new folder will open then double click on “pc-print-deploy-client[managedprint.uis.private.cam.ac.uk].msi”.
- In the installer window, click next until the installation is complete and you can click finish.
- The client will open, Click on “Sign in with Microsoft”
- You will be directed to a browser, follow the login process and use your university Password.
- After successful login in, close the browser windows and return to the client.
- The client will install all the printers available to you depending on your affiliation.
- The correct print queue for the department is called “Eng_FindMe [Department of Engineering](Mobility)”. This will be installed automatically.
MAC – link
- Open the folder after downloading it from the link above and run the .pkg file.
- In the installer window, click next until the installation is complete and you can click finish.
- The client will open, Click on “Sign in with Microsoft”
- You will be directed to a browser, follow the login process and use your university Password.
- After successful login in, close the browser windows and return to the client.
- The client will install all the printers available to you depending on your affiliation.
- The print queue is called Eng_FindMe.

Linux
There will be Print Deploy clients available for both Ubuntu and RedHat Linux based systems. However, in collaboration with UIS we have identified an issue with the most recent client version that prevents installation completing successfully.
We are pursuing this issue as a matter of urgency with UIS, who have in turn escalated to PaperCut, with the aim of providing a functional solution prior to the rollout of new printers at Engineering.
