Departmental users can request the purchase of a Zoom Webinar add-in on their existing Departmental Zoom host license. Prices vary depending on the number of attendees required and can be paid either monthly or annually. Please contact ics-admin@eng.cam.ac.uk to request the add-in.
Zoom Webinar
The Zoom Webinars platform is based on the familiar Zoom Meetings system. It is designed to enable much greater control and clarity for organizers, presenters and attendees for conferences with larger audiences. Unlike a regular Zoom meeting, a Zoom Webinar splits participants into two categories- panellists and attendees– alongside the webinar host.
Panellists can share slides, video, audio and take part in panel discussions much like a normal Zoom meeting participant.
Attendees are audience observers by default with no video or audio. They can interact via chat, Q&A, hand raising and polling.
Hosts have overall control of the webinar and can mute/unmute panellists, promote attendees and mange Q&A/polling.
The platform is also capable of live streaming the webinar via YouTube or Facebook.
