Facilities and Equipment

All lecture and seminar spaces are fitted with data projectors, PC, visualiser, speakers and laptop inputs as standard. Larger spaces contain additional resources such as dual displays and wireless microphones.
 

Assisted Listening

Assisted Listening systems are available in Constance Tipper, LT1, LT2, LR3, LR4 & LT6.

LT6 has a hearing loop installed which can be accessed by hearing aids with a T position. All other rooms have infrared transmitters which require use of a dedicated receiver to work with T position hearing aids. Please contact av-support@eng.cam.ac.uk for short term loan of a device (limited numbers available).

In addition, from Michaelmas 2026 the Constance Tipper lecture theatre has an Auracast broadcast, compatible with Auracast enabled hearing aids and earphones. Connect your device to the ‘Constance Tipper’ broadcast channel, or email av-support@eng.cam.ac.uk for short term loan of an Auracast receiver compatible with personal hearing loops or standard wired earphones (limited numbers available).

Additional equipment may be available with advance booking on a first come first served basis. Further details can be found via the Equipment Loans section of this website or by contacting av-support@eng.cam.ac.uk

 

Booking a room

Room bookings are made via the Lecture Theatre and Meeting Room Booking System. Any queries related to room bookings should be made with Reception.
 

Emergency Support

If you require immediate assistance during a lecture, seminar or meeting please use the nearby telephone and contact 32660. All lecture rooms have a telephone present for this purpose which is usually placed close to the lectern and has visible contact details. If we are out of the office the call will forward onto our mobile phones – please let the phone ring a little longer to ensure there is time for this transfer to take place.

 

For some of our recently refurbished systems, we may be able to resolve the problem remotely. In other cases, we will pay a visit to the room. Please note that during term we may be dealing with a number of emergencies at once – if so, we will notify you of our expected arrival during the phone call.
