Before being connected to the Departmental wired network, a machine must first be registered. All such registrations are made with the understanding that the owner agrees to abide by the network rules and terms and conditions and the more general rules governing the use of computers in the Department.

Please note: Wired network connections are not provided for personal undergraduate devices. It is expected that the shared facilities available on the Central Computing system will be used instead.

Registering a Device

To register a device on the Engineering network either contact your research IT Support or complete this form.

Changes to Registration (including removal)

The Engineering Department Helpdesk  or ip-register need to be informed if a registered device:

• Is permanently removed from the network.
• Is moved to a different location.
• Is being used by a different person.
• Has a new operating system installed.
